Driller Killer - Reality Bites - CD

Driller Killer - Reality Bites - CD
Less than 20 copies left in stock and this album is sold out.

Reality Bites is Driller Killer's fourth full length and has a noticeable style alteration from their release prior to this, Fuck The World, mainly because there seems to be a lot more mid-tempo beats. The fast stuff is still comparable to Disrupt or Doom, but with more thrash / speed metal oriented riffs than Fuck The World. Think D.R.I. or even early 80s Metallica. At the same time, some of the mid-tempo songs remind me of old crust in the category of Extinction of Mankind.

Also on this Cd is what I Think might be the best Rise Above cover song I have heard yet. I wouldn't say that Driller Killer has all out changed their style on this album,I'd say progression is a better word. Either way, this album is great in that it combines an assload of different genres and doesn't just pull it off, but fucking owns it. (Bones)

Driller Killer - The 4Q Mangrenade - CD
The 4Q Mangrenade is Driller Killer's latest album and is consistent with their sound as of late. I found it to be quite reminiscent of Reality Bites and Cold Cheap and Disconnected. At the same time this album pulls away from their sound on the last two albums, taking Swedish hardcore in a new direction. As I've said before, Driller Killer's sound is constantly progressing from album to album. Our Price: US$2.99
Retail Price : US$8.99

Driller Killer - And the Winner Is - CD
13 tracks of devastating Swedish hardcore played with unmatched brutality and experience. Thick metal-edged guitars backed by punishing d-beat drumming and extremely harsh low-end vocals courtesy of the bands founder. This album continues to deal out their own brand of raw aggression laced with the harsh realities of life. Pissed off is an understatement... Our Price: US$2.99

Driller Killer - Fuck the World - CD
These guys are really hard to categorize. There's aspects of metal, punk, crust, hardcore, thrash and all that good stuff. I'd definitely say that thrash, punk, and metal dominate. One consistency across the board is that scent of Swedish background and influence you get from good Scandinavian bands. I would definitely say Fuck The World is very comparable to Disrupt or even Doom. Our Price: US$2.99

Driller Killer - Cold Cheap & Disconnected - CD
This is Driller Killer's sixth full length and it follows the progression that you see in their style when comparing albums not to mention the high levels of kickassitude. This album sticks with their metal infused Scandinavian hardcore sound that their known for as is expected. What really separates this album from the others is that it leans more towards that metal side. More complex fills and solos pull it further away from being thrown in with other hardcore bands. Basically, if you like other Driller Killer releases you're not going to be disappointed by any means. Our Price: US$2.99

Gaurithoth - Perverse - CD
Alright, buckle up, motherfuckers, it's time to be floored by the two latest masterpieces from Crimes Against Humanity Records. Seriously, this label has picked up steam in the past with its diverse roster of releases, but a couple from this latest batch really take the fucking cake. First up is Gaurithoth (Finland), whose debut full-length, Perverse, throws down 38 minutes of their self-proclaimed satanic perverse black latex metal, whatever the hell that means. Truly, these god damn black metal bands really need to cut the shit and realize that tongue-in-cheek humor is just not the way to go with this mess. I mean, this record absolutely shreds with perfectly executed black metal that blends fierce speeds and lightly dissonant midpaced fare with a dual vocal attack and a crisp recording. The shit totally smokes, I love it. Our Price: US$0.49

Pisshead Blues Band (The) - s/t - CD (Members of Misery)
Less than 35 copies left and this is sold out forever.

This is an acoustic blues project started a few years back by Jon of Misery, Matt of Civil Disobedience and Bree from Deadstate. This CD is the product of many evenings in the basement studio at the house of Misery, getting fucked up, rocking out with acoustic guitars and lamenting the bullshit life sends you. Most of the lyrics are absolutely hilarious, but they do have some more serious songs too, including a cover of Mob's No Doves Fly Here. They also mix it with occasional guest appearances by Gary from Misery and Gooch from Assrash / Cut Throat Hoods. There are a total of 24 songs here, each one unique and interesting. Profane Existence #44

Despite - No Promise of Tomorrow - LP
This disconsin band plays heavy with a gnarled style. The vocals are extremely deep and gruff. The guitars pummel and shread with an almost discordant vibration to them. The sound is thick and heavy, yet one of the guitars is higher pitched and raging over top. The extremely deep vocals lean this in a grind direction, with the thick throttled sound pushing that way too. I have managed to overlook this band for awhile, so I'm not that familiar with their past releases. This one is good, albiet a bit more grind than I usually go for, but this falls just short of the blast beat mayhem, which is good for me. They pummel the shit out of a drop tuned guitar with totally guttural vocals, while the whole pace of this throbs in a dis-beat style that also goes beyond into a thicker combo of crust-grind-punkcore dis style, and I'm into it. Another crust fist in the air band, with a super fucking heavy style. (Slug And Lettuce Zine) Our Price: US$0.99

Beyond Description - A Road to a Brilliant Future - CD

"Damn, talk about an ass kicking!  Japan's Beyond Description won me over right from the start with their unrelenting assault on the senses.  These guys unleash a vicious attack that combines brutal crust punk, grind, thrash, hardcore and just plain metal into one hell of a sound.  I just love the variety of sounds on this thing and how they manage to pack in a lot of cool little change-ups into the relatively short songs.  This is an excellent release from start to finish right up there with some of the best that Crimes Against Humanity has put out.  If you like Urban Raw Head (who share the same label), I highly recommend you check this one out.  If you dig that whole crossover crust/thrash sound that mixes in all kinds of different elements this is a must have.
